In September of 2012, Dr. Rich Koenig was appointed to Associate Dean and Director of Washington State University Extension. Previously, he served as the Chair of the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at Washington State University. From 1995 and 2003, Dr. Koenig was an Associate Professor and Extension Specialist at Utah State University, were he was responsible for research and extension programming in soil fertility and nutrient management for dryland and irrigated cropping systems, as well as urban soil quality and management.
Dr. Koenig holds a Ph.D. in soil fertility and plant nutrition from Washington State University and holds a B.S. and M.S. in natural resource management from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
