Stateswomanship & Public Policy
In December 2014, the Ruckelshaus Center and the Slade Gorton International Policy Center co-sponsored a luncheon discussion entitled Stateswomanship and Public Policy: Reflections on Collaboration and Leadership. The sold-out event featured an inspiring conversation among accomplished women leaders from the Pacific Northwest. UW Law School Dean Kellye Testy moderated a panel including Christine Gregoire (former Washington state Governor), Jenny Durkan (former US Attorney – Western District of Washington), Kim Wyman (Washington Secretary of State), and Phyllis Campbell (Chair of JP Morgan Chase NW). The panelists offered recommendations for getting the country back to a more collaborative public policy-making process; and shared their personal experiences in attaining leadership positions.
This was a follow-up to the December 2013 Statesmanship Luncheon that featured Bill Ruckelshaus, Slade Gorton, Norm Dicks and Dan Evans.
