Joe King is the President of Joe King & Associates, Inc., a public affairs consultant firm. He served on the WSU Board of Regents from 1996 to 2006. King spent 20 years in the insurance and employee benefit field, where he was a partner in a successful agency.
He served in the Washington State Legislature holding the posts of chair of the Trade and Economic Development Committee and the Majority Leader. Additionally, he was elected to serve three terms as Speaker of the House.
King also serves on the Columbia River Economic Development Council and as a trustee for the Southwest Washington Medical Center, and previously served as chair of the Governor’s Task Force on Funding Higher Education.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Linfield College and a Master of Arts from Western Kentucky University.
