About UNCG
The University Network for Collaborative Governance (UNCG) brings together centers, institutes, and programs that engage in practice, scholarship, and teaching to increase the capacity for collaborative governance in their communities. UNCG promotes the role of universities as neutral forums and resource centers in collaborative governance.
Mission
UNCG champions collaborative governance by supporting and strengthening a network of faculty members and professionals from college and university centers, institutes, and programs that engage in collaborative governance practice, scholarship, and teaching.
Vision
UNCG envisions a future where collaboration fosters our collective ability to understand and address the challenges of our time, and in the process, to reimagine and sustain our democracy. In that future, collaborative governance – informed by practice, scholarship, and teaching – fosters a vibrant, equitable, and resilient society.
Principles
UNCG members have adopted principles (PDF) that reflect a commitment to integrity and excellence in collaborative governance. Members are encouraged to adhere to the principles in their operations, functions, and practices. The principles include equity and inclusion; impartiality and neutrality; transparency and openness; respect for private communications; and standards of practice.
