Heather Hansen serves as Executive Director of Washington Friends of Farms & Forests. In addition, she operates her own government relations firm specializing in agricultural and natural resource issues. Clients include the Washington State Grange, Washington Farm Forestry Association, Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association, Washington State Fairs Association, Association of Washington Aerial applicators and Western Washington Golf Course Superintendents Association. She is also the managing partner of the Hansen Family Tree Farm, one of the old continuously operating tree farms in Washington State certified under the Tree Farm program.
Heather has received awards for grassroots organizing, promoting agriculture and excellence in legislative and government affairs from various state and national organizations.
She has served on numerous boards including the Center for Women in Democracy, the Washington State 4-H Foundation, the Olympia Chapter of the Mountaineers and the Southwest Washington Fair.
Heather earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Washington State University. She served on the faculty of Utah State University and the University of Arizona as a county extension agent. She is an alumnus of the Washington Agriculture and Forestry Leadership Program.
In her spare time, you will find her in the mountains, hiking, climbing and taking photographs.
