Dr. Jed August Chalupa joined the Center in August of 2022 and is an experienced facilitator with over a decade of dialogic and deliberative facilitation; community engagement; organizational and governmental conflict management; and teaching/training experience. His work regularly addresses the incorporation of race equity, accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion (READEI) within engagement and conflict resolution efforts. Combining his specializations, he tirelessly works to create trusting, judgement free, and brave spaces for groups to collaboratively explore and address their own biases while moving towards belonging and conflict resolution and public policy.

Jed received his Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Texas A&M University (2024) —with focuses on community engagement and conflict resolution; identity; critical theories; and qualitative methodologies—where he also received certificates in mediation and women and gender studies. He also received his B.A. in Communication Studies (2015)—with a minor in peace and reconciliation—and a M.A. in Communication Studies (2018)—with a specialization in deliberative processes—from Colorado State University.

In his personal time, Jed enjoys the great outdoor—with his camera in hand, exploring new cultures and cuisines, and quality time with family and friends.
