Kara Whitman

With over 10 years of experience in collaborative group facilitation, collaborative process and design, project management support, and project coordination, Kara has been involved in addressing complex multi-party challenges with the William D. Ruckelshaus Center since as early as 2008. Kara is an Associate Professor at Washington State University (WSU) in the School of the Environment. She holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA), a Master of Science (MS), and a PhD in Environmental and Natural Resource Science.

In addition to her role at the Center, Kara is a dedicated leader and educator, serving as the Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs in the School of the Environment. Kara is also deeply committed to building collaborative capacity through her teaching at WSU, equipping students with the skills necessary to effectively engage in and navigate complex problems and challenging multi-party processes.

In her spare time, Kara enjoys traveling abroad, RV camping , reading epic fantasy novels, and spending time with her family.
